Matt is a commercial litigation lawyer in the Halifax office of Cox & Palmer. Matt holds common and civil law degrees from McGill University, and a degree in international criminal law from the University of Sussex in the UK.
Matt has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario as well as the Nova Scotia Supreme Court. Prior to joining the firm, he practiced commercial litigation with a global firm in Toronto. Matt also had a successful consulting career managing a portfolio of public security projects before pursuing law.
Matt has a diverse commercial litigation practice, having acted for both domestic and foreign clients in industries such as technology, banking, mining. Matt’s practice focuses on commercial disputes involving data privacy issues, breach of contract, insurance-related matters, asset recovery, fraud investigations, class actions, and appellate advocacy.
