Dr. Renata Dividino is member of the Institute Big Analytics at Dalhousie. Originally from São Paulo, Renata has significant international experience, having studied in Brazil and in France during her undergraduate, and obtaining her Masters in Computer Science as well as her PhD in the field of Semantic Web technologies in Germany. She is currently working on a NSERC funded project with the Department of National Defence and Lockheed Martin Canada which attempts to learn how to better support the current and future information needs of naval decision makers aboard Royal Canadian Navy vessels. She brings her skills to the upcoming CFI funded MERIDIAN initiative (Marine Environment Research Infrastructure for Data Integration and Application Network) in web semantics and machine learning, and is researching productive ways to combine these fields.
